Dr. Markus Lenger
Co-founder
Dr. Markus Lenger is a distinguished water physicist, as well as the CEO and co-founder of CleanBlu, which is a prominent innovator in the wastewater and water reuse industry. He has over 35 years of experience in wastewater and is renowned for his ability to push the limits of science and technology in order to create innovative solutions that enhance water quality and accessibility. As both a physicist and an electrical engineer, Markus has developed patented water and biological monitoring systems that have served as the technical foundation for BluSENSE. His extensive experience in research and development, as well as his expertise in the manufacturing of measurement and treatment systems for water reuse, has led to his involvement in international standards and committees. Markus is the chair of the WE•Stand Residential Direct Potable Water Reuse Committee, which is responsible for establishing the technical and legal framework that allows for direct potable reuse in homes. He is also a Board Member of ARCSA, The American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association, a voting member of the ISO Sustainable Non-sewered Sanitation Systems, and a voting member of ISO Water Reuse in Urban Areas. Markus holds a BS in Electronic Engineering, a MS in Laser Technology, and a Doctorate in High Energy Physics. In addition to his work in the water industry, Markus is also an avid sailor and hiker, and enjoys exploring the beautiful coastal regions of the Southwest with his wife in his leisure time.
Gina Lenger

Gina is an experienced entrepreneur and a co-founder of BluSENSE, a technology and data analytics company focused on creating innovative, smart, and reliable buildings data analysis products. Gina’s impressive background as an Executive Assistant to CEO's has given her valuable insight into the inner workings of a successful company and enables her to excel in all facets of BluSENSE business. With her ability to identify opportunities for growth and her attention to detail, Gina is leading the charge at BluSENSE to deliver exceptional results that exceed expectations and will make a long-lasting impression in the world. Whenever she has time, Gina loves to travel and especially to places where she can discover and enjoy new food cultures and wine.
Gary Klein
Co-founder
Gary Klein, President of Gary Klein & Associates, Inc. has been intimately involved in energy efficiency and renewable energy since 1974. One sixth of his career was spent in the Kingdom of Lesotho, the rest in the United States. Since the early 1990s he has led the effort to incorporate “hot water as a system” into the core principles of building science. After serving 19 years with the California Energy Commission, he has provided consulting on sustainability since 2008, with an emphasis on the water-energy-carbon-health connection. The benefits of right-sizing premise plumbing and water heating systems are currently at the top of his list. Klein received a BA from Cornell University in 1975 with an Independent Major in Technology and Society with an emphasis on energy conservation and renewable energy. The International Association of Plumber and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) recognized his efforts in 2014 presenting him their Green Professional of the Year award. In 2015 the Department of Energy awarded him the Jeffrey A. Johnson Award for Excellence in in the Advancement of Building Energy Codes.
Daryl Miller
Technology Consultant
Daryl is a tech industry veteran and hands-on expert with over 30 years' experience in hardware, software, and network technologies related to the Internet of Things. His work has been published extensively and his past lectures on embedded systems, computer graphics, engineering tools, and more have informed many throughout his career. As Vice President of Engineering at Lantronix, Inc., Daryl provided a wide range of innovative strategies and directed the design and development of their signature products. Before that, he worked at Tektronix for 14 years in multiple technical and management positions. His formal education includes a bachelor's degree in information systems and a master's degree in business administration and is a named inventor on several patents. In his free time, Daryl likes to spend time in nature, especially camping and hiking with his wife and their Shiba Inu in the Pacific Northwest.
